Kelvin O. Lim, MD

Laboratory Director

Dr. Kelvin O. Lim is the founding director of the NNL. Dr. Lim's research interest is in the use of neuroimaging approaches to identify circuit abnormalities in brain disorders such as schizophrenia, traumatic brain injury and addiction and then to use these circuits as treatment targets for noninvasive neuromodulation interventions. Alana Lieske

Laboratory Manager

Alana earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 2017, and joined the NNL in 2018. Her research interests center around the use of non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) as a treatment method for neurological and psychiatric conditions, as well as making NIBS procedures more comfortable for kids and adults. She enjoys teaching families, students, and researchers about NIBS to raise awareness and encourage additional research. Alana's favorite brain stimulation technique is single-pulse TMS to the motor cortex, because observing the muscle responses is so exciting! When she's not in the lab, Alana enjoys cats, mountain biking, and digging in her garden.

Mia Kellman

Research Professional

Mia graduated from the University of Minnesota in the spring of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and joined the NNL as the primary neuromodulation technician in 2022. Mia is interested in novel interventions for a variety of different conditions, including OCD, depression, and traumatic brain injuries. She plans to apply to medical school in the summer of 2024, and hopes to stay in the midwest because winter is her favorite season! Mia also loves to bake, cross-stitch, and walk around the many beautiful lakes in Minneapolis in her free time. Her favorite type of NIBS is TMS!
